The Ghana Teachers Recruitment Process is the official procedure through which trained and qualified teachers are employed into public schools by the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The category is for graduates who've successfully completed their various programs from various accredited tertiary institutions.

Phase 01

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for Recruitment, an applicant must fulfill the following initial requirements to initiate the evaluation process:

Academic Qualification:
  • Hold a recognised related degree in education.
  • Must have successfully completed all academic and teaching practice requirements.
National Service:
  • Completed National Service.
  • Possess a valid National Service Certificate.
Licensure Examination:
  • Must pass the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination conducted by the National Teaching Council (NTC).
  • Have a valid NTC teacher licensure certificate.

  • Passport-size photograph

Phase 02

Online Application Process

Applications are submitted online through the official GES-GEDP recruitment portal. Please follow this step-by-step procedure:

Step 1: Access GEDP Recruitment Portal
  • Use the link provided.
  • Navigate to Graduate (University) applicant tab.
  • Click on Apply Now.
Step 2: Fill Out the Application Form

Provide accurate information including:

  • Personal details
  • Academic qualifications
  • NTC license certificate
  • National Service details
Step 3: Upload Documents
  • Academic Certificates
  • Licensure certificate
  • National Service certificate
  • Ghana Card
  • Birth Certificate
  • Passport-size photograph
Step 4: Finalize

  • Submit the form.
  • Print confirmation slip.

Phase 03

Shortlisting and Validation

After successfully submitting your application, the evaluation process begins:

  • GES screens applications to ensure all requirements are met.
  • GES will release official result via GES-GEDP recruitment portal

Phase 04

Posting and Appointment

Successful applicants:

  • Receive official appointment letters.
  • Are posted to schools based on:
    • Subject specialization
    • Regional / District preference
    • Vacancy availability
  • Readiness to serve at where your services are needed.

Applicants must report to the assigned district office to complete documentation before assuming duty.

Original documents must be presented for verification.
